MD Program

The Six year MD program at European International Educational University, Faculty of Medicine is a uniquely designed program to equip the Medical practices with a strong foundation and advance knowledge. The program is mapped to the European and the American system of Medical practice.

During the course of the studies the candidates go through rigorous work that enable them to be molded into persons with good judgment. The  students are taught the local language - Georgian or “Kartuli”, in the first year to enable smooth interaction with the patients during their clinical practice. 

From the 3rd through the 6th year students can do  their  practical training in Germany in three different hospitals/clinics; Koln, Stuttgart and Munich. This is apart from the clinical work that each candidate will do here in Tbilisi. During this two months training period the University will make arrangements for the accommodation of the candidates at these partnering institutions. At the end of each semester the students have to under go a major exam which is mandatory to pass.

Eligibility CriteriaThe Six year MD program is open to any individual who is physically and mentally fit with a minimum education qualification of 12 years of schooling or higher from an accredited school of their respective countries. To apply for the six years MD program each candidate must fulfill the following criteria.
  • All candidates must have a minimum 12 years of schooling and higher.
  • They must be from the Science stream during their schooling.
  • They should have a minimum of 50% aggregate in the completion year of their 12 year schooling.
  • They should have no police records. A Police Clearance certificate (PCC) is mandatory
  • They should have a valid passport
  • Should be Medically fit with a clear health record
  • They should have insurance cover for the period of studies.
  • They should have two recommendation letters, (one must be from the School they have passed out from.)
  • Each candidate must provide in their own handwriting in about 200 words on, “Why they would like to be a Medical Doctor through this program?

 

Documents Required (If not Applied Online)Candidate who wishes to join the program should submit the following documents to the University during the process of application: -
  • Application for the 6 yr MD program dully filled and signed
  • Copy of their valid passport (all pages with printed and written information)
  • Certificate of completion of their 10 year of schooling.
  • Certificate of completion of their 12 year of schooling (Must be “apostille” by the ministry of Education)
  • Birth Certificate.
  • Police Clearance certificate (PCC)
  • Medical Certificate
  • The statement of purpose
  • Recommendation letter from two individuals known to the candidate.
  • Four recent Biometric photographs (size 3cm x 4cm)
Documents 2nd to 5th must be notary attested and can be scanned and send to the University. All document that are not in English must be translated and Notarized.

Acceptance and offer

Once the University receives the dully filled and signed application form along with the document required for enrollment, the University review board checks and verifies these documents. On finding the documents in order, it is then forwarded to the ministry of Education for verification and acceptance of the candidate for the program. The University then sends a conditional offer letter to the candidate requiring the candidate to make the initial payment specified in the offer letter. The candidate also has to fulfill all other criteria specified on the offer letter.

Once the Ministry accepts the candidates and issues a no objection certificate to the University, the University then issues the candidate with the confirmation and invitation letter. This is a very important document because this will enable you to clear your immigration and receive the entry visa at the Border of Republic of Georgia.

 

Travel and arrivalTbilisi is well connected by all major airlines. It is advised that candidates make arrangement early, as cost of tickets go up closer to the date of travel. They must check with the travel agents regarding the route, total time required for the journey and any stop over during the journey. The candidates should have all the documents prepared and kept ready in originals and in Two sets of Notary attested copies (all documents required as mentioned in the “documents required” section). Travel document are to be kept safe at all times.

On arrival at Tbilisi the candidates will be picked up by the representatives of the University and briefed on their arrangements and reporting time at the University. They will then be take to the accommodation arranged for them. A general orientation is given to the students on the place of stay and movement around the area.

Clinical Practice The MD program students go for Clinical Practice after their third year for a period of two months to one of the following locations
